The NSS Gazette Informing the Thin Stone Community Volume III: February, 2009            Natural Stone Solutions Customer Workshop The George Schofield Co., Inc. recently conducted a workshop for one of our valued dealers in New England.  It was an upbeat and informative meeting and we received a very positive response from our customers.  We encourage all of our dealers to give us a call if you are interested in arranging a similar session or obtaining a DVD of our presentation.  The DVD can be used to further educate your sales staff on our Natural Stone Solutions product line or to directly provide sales information to contractors, masons or homeowners.   The workshop started with an overview of products from our Harford Distribution Yard and Jackson Saw Facility in Pennsylvania - bluestone products, fieldstone, sawn treads, etc. We then went into more depth on Natural Stone Solutions to educate workshop participants about our product line and how thin veneers are produced and marketed.            During the NSS presentation we reviewed our brochure and highlighted the different categories and cuts of stone that we offer.  We also showed samples of both flat and corner thin veneers.  We described how to calculate the square footage needed for a project and how to measure for corners, which are sold by the lineal foot.  The last item in our "show and tell" segment was fake or manufactured stone, which allowed workshop participants to see the difference in quality compared to natural stone thin veneer.                We then showed two videos.  The first was an installation video that we produced several years ago.  It was a little bit cheesy but worked as a learning tool.  The second video was from an upcoming segment of the DIY Network's "Under Construction" program.  For this episode, the hosts of this series visited our Cambridge operation to find out how we quarry and produce NSS products (it will air sometime in the next 6-8 weeks and will be featured on our web site). The final part of the workshop was a Power Point presentation that went into additional detail on how our thin veneers are produced and packaged and, most important, how to sell this product line.  We demonstrated that NSS is a superior product to fake stone and highlighted the many other benefits of NSS and natural stone in general.
